What do you think of when your buddy mentions club sports in your high school? Well, if it’s anything less than the thoughts of championships in the near future, you haven’t been welcomed to the culture of Frontier’s Ultimate Disc Team.
The first game of the club’s young season so far was a great success on April fourth against Pioneer at Pratt Field in Bernardston MA. The starting seven of the team on opening day comprised of juniors Ben Morse, Tenzin Tsundue, Sam Felton Emerick, Sam Battisti, Gabe Jones, James Morgan, and Ethan DeMaio.
Other important members of the team such as the lengthy, 6’8” Carsten Carey, and potential-filled juniors Owen Walkowicz and Gabe Jones Thomson. Look for upstart freshmen Jake Hanieski and Amos Kohrman in the future of FU Disc.
Kohrman, in his first year at Frontier after transferring from PVPA, is looking forward to a strong season from his newfound team, saying, “Can’t wait for the Amherst Invitational, it is always great to be invited to these invitational tournaments because it really shows the skill level and work ethic of the team. We some really strong players and they have been embracing me well as a newcomer.”
In the match footage provided by FCAT TV, you can tell that this group of young men is tightly knit, as evidenced by their great team defense and their beautiful cuts down the field. They are extremely positive, always cheering each other on and doing their best to help and support one another no matter the circumstance.
