Girls Volleyball: The girls’ volleyball team had another spectacular year, with a perfect record of 17-0 and landed the title of #1 team in the state. Coach Sean MacDonald had his 400th team win this season, a huge accomplishment for him and the team.
Boys Soccer: The Boys soccer team ended their regular season 7-4-3 and are advancing into Western Mass and States. Our current record is 9-4-3. We finished 2nd in the Moriarity League this year and seeded #3 in Western Mass Class C tournament. We just won our first Western Mass game and will play in the semifinals against Pope Francis tomorrow (Saturday). We are currently seeded #3 in the Div 4 state ranking, which is where we have been pretty much all year. Our captains this year are seniors Brady Burch and Matt Sicard, and junior Chanhee Son. Our points leaders this season are Brady Burch (16), junior Nico Fasulo (16) and junior Devin Niles (15). Sophomore Owen Babb has minded our net posting 7 shutouts this year.
Girls Soccer: Girls Soccer has had a good season so far. We are currently 9 – 5 – 2. We are seeded as a 3 seed in the Western Mass tournament and play Mahar this Thursday. We have been ranked as high as 25 in the State Rankings. We finished second in our league behind Amherst. Overall this season has been a good one. The players work hard and we have a better record than we did last year. The players are finding ways to score and are not relying on just one person. Our defense is coming along and is ready for the challenge of the postseason. Our captains are Kylie Laford, Hannah Mackin, and Sydney Tor.
Golf: The golf team won their last two matches to finish 7-7 in qualifying for the Western Mass Div 2 tournament. At Western Mass the team finished 13th. Leaders at Western Mass were Freshman Ryan Cetto, Senior Alex Gochinski, and 8th Grade Addy Wood.
Girls Field Hockey: Field Hockey went into post-season 8-2-6 and 2-0-2 in their league, qualifying for Western Mass and States
Girls Cross Country won the Pioneer North League Championship compiling an undefeated 8-0 record. They were led by Leah Gump and Abigail Howard who trade first and second-place finishes throughout the season. Nicole Plasse, Bianca Peura, Sasha Malo, Sylvie DiBartolomeo, and newcomer 7th grader Maia Christensen rounded out the top of the team.
Boys XC won the Pioneer North League with an 8-0 record. They were led by freshman Luke Howard and 8th grader Evan Hedlund. Amory Maxey, Erich Brown, and Oliver Brown rounded out the top five of the squad, says Bob S. Both teams will vie for Western Mass honors on 10/30, and will move on to the divisional championships on 11/12.
Football Frontier Football went 5-2 this season and qualified for States and Western MA led by captains Sean Kirkendall, Eathon Bryant and Aiden West. This year, Indya Lewis scored a varsity touchdown against Springfield Commerce, making her the second female to do so in Massachusetts high school football history.
